A Vancouver Island music festival is coming to the rescue of some music lovers caught with nowhere to go after the Pemberton Festival declared bankruptcy.
Organizers of the Tall Tree Festival at Browns Mt. in Port Renfrew are offering a ticket exchange program for 250 Pemberton pass holders.
Emmalee Brunt says organizers are also festival attendees, and they empathize with those who lost out.
" You know, they have no festival to go to now, and of course they don't get a refund. Which is really unfortunate. So, put our heads together and thought why not offer, you know, a set amount of tickets, being 250, to kind of Pemberton ticket holders."
Brunt says while they can sympathize with the challenges of operating multi-day festivals they do not agree with a 'no-refunds policy' on a cancelled event, and are offering a ticket swap to instill confidence, and keep the industry alive in BC.
The exchange is limited to a first-come-first-serve system to a maximum of 250 general admission tickets -- but does not cover camping/early access.
