Mechanical problems has forced V2V Vacations to take its passenger ferry between Vancouver and Victoria out of service.
The issue is with one of the engines. Alternative transportation methods are being made for those booked to travel within the next four weeks. The company is contacting all affected guests directly.
This is the second time the new service has experience issues since it launched in May. The first was less than a week after starting up when electrical issues forced the high speed catamaran out of service for several days.
In a news release the V2V team says it's doing everything it can to work through the issues and get the V2V Empress back into operation, adding in their first year of operation, these unfortunate delays are not unexpected.
