After a successful launch of Vancouver to Victoria harbour service over the weekend the high-speed catamaran V2V Empress had a problem yesterday that prevented the return trip to Victoria.
Operations VP Nick Cheong says it was an electrical issue:
"We identified an electrical fault on board. So in these early days we want to take every issue that we encounter seriously. So we have our crew and suppliers on site at the moment just having a look at the vessel, making sure it's all prepared for the voyage in the coming days.
Passengers were offered a refund, or alternate transportation to Victoria. 20 passengers were taken by a charter vehicle to BC Ferries.
Cheong says it's hoped sailings can resume tomorrow.
