Saanich PD are asking for the public's help in finding two suspects who broke into the Tillicum Centre.
The B&E took place around 2am on Tuesday, January 22nd.
The two suspects were caught on video surveillance as they accessed the mall through the loading bay. They then headed directly to a large donation box, which contained an undisclosed amount of cash, which was to be donated to Jeneece Place, a home where children and their families can stay while receiving medical care.
Sergeant Jereme Leslie with Saanich PD says the suspects seemed to have the bin targeted.
"There was nothing else stolen, nothing else targeted. You can see them on video coming from that particular area of Tillicum Mall, directly to that donation bin, then leave moments after they were successful in stealing the money."
He adds that this is an "aggregious offence", and hopes that someone recognizes the clothing, as the suspects were wearing masks and gloves and didn't leave behind much forensic evidence.
One of the suspects was wearing a white hat with blue lid, ski mask, black jacket, black gloves, black pants and black shoes, and carrying a grey back pack.
The other was wearing a black mask, black pants, black gloves and black shoes, with a blue hoodie underneath a red jacket.
Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call Saanich Police at 250-475-4321, or contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
