It's been two weeks now since a Highlands family last saw their beloved samoyed dog, Bjorn.
The 10 year old, white, fluffy dog went missing June 7th from the family's property on Millstream Lake Road and has not been seen since.
Owner, Andrew Lemon, says it was unlike him to just wander off.
Bjorn is also missed in the community since he works as a therapy dog with children who are afraid of dogs. Lemon says Bjorn is very laid back and gentle with the children.
He says the family has gone through many scenarios in their minds as to what may have happened to Bjorn, from a bear taking him to him being dog-napped. If someone has him, Lemon has this message.
"Bring him to anywhere that would get him to somebody--be it a vet clinic, you drop it off. To the CRD Pound and drop him off. If you want, you can drive by our driveway where we suspect he was likely picked up if that's the case and just drop him off and carry on. Or heck, just drop him off at the nearest intersection! Make it possible for him to find his way home."
Lemon says he is still working with the group F.L.E.D (Find Lost & Escaped Dogs Vancouver Island) to help locate the dog.
He says Bjorn is easy to spot. The 75-pound samoyed is not a common breed on the island and is microchipped. He was wearing a collar and tag when he went missing
