A teen has non-life-threatening, but potentially life-altering injuries after he was assaulted with a weapon in a Quadra Heights playground Tuesday night.
Victoria Police were called to the playground in the 3100-block of Alder Street just before 9 p.m.
A boy told them he and a friend were in the playground, when two other teens took their longboards.
When his friend tried to stop the suspects, he was assaulted with a weapon.
The suspects are described as Aboriginal, about 15 and 16 years old. Both were described as being short, standing about 5’3 and of average build.
One of the suspects was wearing a red hat at the time of the incident.
One of the longboards stolen is distinctive: A new full-sized board, with dark grey grip tape on top with a circular black and white sticker in the middle.
The underside is described as dark blue, white, grey and aquamarine pattern, with a smaller black circular sticker.
Given the nature of the assault, and because the assault happened in a playground. VicPD want residents to be aware of this incident.
Police would like to speak with a man who offered assistance to the victim as he lay on the ground.
If you have any information about this incident call Victoria Police or Greater Victoria Crime Stoppers.
