Daniel Kipkoech of Kenya has defended his race title, winning the elite TC10K. He crossed the finish line in 29 minutes and 59 seconds, breaking the 30-minute mark in spite of a strong headwind -- race director Joe Dixon says that's an amazing race. "To see him run by Dallas road in the headwind coming up the hill just past the boat launch was something, a fantastic effort."
The women’s champion was Dayna Pidhoresky, a native of Windsor, Ont., now training in Vancouver, who crossed the finish line in 33:43. That ended Kenyan Jane Murage’s four-year reign as women’s champion.
Murage, battling a knee injury this year, placed third.
Just over 9,000 people took part in the 28th Annual TC 10K.
