A pathway between Fort Street and Broughton will soon pop with colour.
The Downtown Victoria Business Association, City of Victoria, Greater Victoria Public Library and Breakwater Realty have teamed up to bring some colour to the walkway with planters, painting, banners, lighting and street art.
The partners will officially christen the walkway as "Library Lane" on Monday. The laneway will be animated with a pop-up library, the GVPL's popular outreach vehicle and DigiLab demos.
Maureen Sawa, CEO, Greater Victoria Public Library says public libraries contribute to the health and vibrancy of their communities."
The laneway opening begins at 11 a.m. Monday, June 5th.
