A man in Spokane man has an idea on how to send unwanted smoke accumulating in Washington State back to where it came from.
Caleb Moon posted his idea to Facebook:
" We wanted everybody in the community, which is roughly 550-thouwand people in this metropolitan area, to go onto their roofs and put at least 5 box fans on their roof, which they would aim up towards Canada. And with all of our powers combined it would clear the smoke out."
He's had responses both miffed, and amused. Including this one from Rory Robert Speirs:
"Can anyone else see a wind war abouyt to start? I am sending a letter to our prime minister toi erect turbines at your border to keep our sweet Canadian smoke rolling down to America. It's our first step to Canadians domination! Sorry about that eh!"
Moon says while it just started as a joke, it's turned into a way to raise money for wildfire-related causes in British Columbia.
Some of the good causes he encourages people to support, shelter animals and Food Banks BC.
Meantime, he is still urging Spokane's residents to place box fans on their roofs at noon on Friday.
