The Son of a Vancouver Island man slain in Mexico last fall is still looking for answers and Justice.
23 year old Daniel Corbett is trying to come to grips with what happened to his father last November. Roger Corbett died from blood loss after he was stabbed in a residence in the beachside town of Chicxulub. Mexican Authorities were co-operative but Daniel and his family are still no closer to understanding why their father is gone. "We still do not know the reasons behind it and we may never know."
Daniel says they are still waiting to hear the accused side of the story. "The primary witness in this case is a lifelong friend of my father. He has communicated with the family and it was a simple argument we don't know what provoked it."
Corbett has quit his job in Vancouver and moved back to Vancouver Island. He has started a fundraising campaign to help pay for legal fees; travel for the trial and support for his 3 underage siblings.
Corbett's body remains in Mexico on the advice of Mexican authorities who also say the investigation won't finish until May.
