After rounds of public consultation, Saanich has come up with a new design concept for the Shelbourne Corridor.
In a release from the District, the new design highlights includes new high quality bike facilities for the entire street, including separation from vehicle traffic for over half of it.
It includes significant pedestrian improvements for 2.3km of upgraded sidewalks and shorter crossing distances at major intersections.
The design also includes improved left turn access to many locations and better transit waiting areas.
The design is all part of the Shelbourne Valley Action Plan, which is focused on
Shelbourne St. between Feltham Rd and North Dairy Rd.
This now third design concept is at the public consultation stage with open houses scheduled for early October.
