The District of Saanich is celebrating Tree Appreciation Day with a tree planting event at Glanford Park.
Celebrating 60 years of green spaces in Saanich, the District will hold a tree planting in Glanford Park this weekend.
The nature lovers event happens from 10 until noon Saturday November 3rd.
Bring your gloves, boots and a small shovel or spade.
Staff and volunteers will plant Garry oaks, adding to the 15 Garry oaks that were planted at Bruce Hutchison Park earlier this fall.
In total, 60 Garry oaks will be planted across Saanich.
Currently less than 5 per cent of the endangered trees remain standing in region.
