Saanich Council will consider spending $80-thousand dollars to create five new parking spaces at the bottom of Mount Doug Park when they meet Monday night.
A staff report recommends creating the additional parking on Glendenning Road, bringing the total number of parking spaces there to 10. Staff point out the Glendenning trailhead provides access to a number of flat, easy walking trails making it a popular destination.
When council meets tonight, they'll also look at a number of other recommendations for Mount Doug Park. Among the items are calls for improved signage, better bike and pedestrian access around and within the park, and asking BC Transit to move bus stops closer to the Mount Doug.
