Elections BC says the number of ballots received in BC's electoral reform referendum are now at just over 682-thousand, or about 21% of ballots returned. That number doesn't reflect the number received by Canada Post, but have not yet delivered to Elections BC.
The deadline to have your ballot in is 4:30pm November 30th.
Elections BC Communications Director, Rebecca Penz, urges voters to keep in mind the rotating strikes at Canada Post, and to take measures to get your ballot in on time:
" The first is to get it into the mail today. The other is if you're still trying to figure out what you want to vote for, and you need a little bit more time, you can take it to a Referendum Service Office or a Service BC Centre and drop it off by the deadline and it will be accepted."
There are currently no plans to extend the Nov. 30 mail-in deadline. If you have not received a voting package the deadline to request one is midnight Friday (Nov. 23), but Penz recommends doing that today, in person, online, or by phone.
