Local sponsor Robin Stevenson tells CFAX 1070's Adam Stirling that employment opportunities for new Canadians are greatly needed.
"There are lots of people in the community who are looking for ways to help, just recognizing that those people are going to be seeking employment. So people who have connections who are able to provide employment opportunities for those newcomers, we know that is a real need."
Stevenson and a group of 15 others in the Victoria area have sponsored a family from Turkey that arrived six months ago.
