Health Canada has issued a recall for 5 over-the-counter strawberry-flavoured acetaminophen infant oral drops in 24 milliliter bottles. The recall is because of the child-resistant safety caps may be defective.
The recalled products are labeled as Biomedic, Option plus, Personnelle, Selection, or Laboratoires Trianon Inc. This recall is in addition to previous recalls of children’s acetaminophen syrups for the same issue.
The medication is used for pain and fever relief. A defective cap could allow a child to accidentally ingest the product, which could pose a significant health concern. Accidental ingestion can result in serious health consequences, including liver damage or, in the most severe cases, death.
You can return affected products to the place of purchase for a refund.
