The provincial government is announcing $29.4 million for school classroms ahead of the election.
The money is for a wide range of things like textbooks, hands on equipment for everything including athletic gear.
The Education Ministry says it averages out to about $50 per student in the public system.
"Thanks to our strong economy and fiscal management, we are finishing the year in a really good position,” Education Minister Mike Bernier said in a release. “I can think of no better way to take advantage of the available year-end funding than by investing in our students and classrooms. “
It will be doled out over the next few weeks so teachers and parents can prepare for next school year's curriculum.
B.C.'s 60 school districts will receive $27.4 million based on the number of students in each district. Independent schools will receive $2 million.
