Pro-Lifers will be marching on the Legislature today. The theme of this year's March for Life is "Canada is 150 years old and human rights still matter."
Rally spokesperson Bianca Rojo says for the first 100 years of confederation Canadian law protected all pre-born children, but that changed in 1969.
Rojo says Canada is the only country in the world that has no regulations around the procedure of abortion, and marchers want to encourage the new provincial government to do what they can to bring Canada into line with international abortion regulations. They will also march against assisted suicide and euthanasia.
Organizers say they want to remind the new government of its duty to protect all citizens of B.C. including the elderly, physically and mentally challenged.
The event starts in Centennial Square at 1:45, with marchers moving to the Legislature.
