BC Premier designate John Horgan isn't even officially on the job yet and he's already facing a massive challenge after a state of emergency is declared in BC because of wildfires threatening people and property. "This is an enormous challenge for people the environment and the economy my hopes and prayers are with the people on the ground right now and that we get a break from the weather. I've spoken also with the federal minister Mr. Goodale he contacted me to brief me on the federal response, they're ready to go as soon as the province requests their assistance it will be there and Mr. Rustad will be coordinating that from Prince George."
Horgan says current BC Forests Minister John Rustad and federal minister Ralph Goodale have done an excellent job so far of coordinating the effort to battle these wildfires.
Horgan is supposed to attend the Pride parade in Victoria Sunday, now says his plans may have to change and he is monitoring the situation very closely.
