Victoria Police are hoping you have a safe and happy Halloween this year, and while they had a busy weekend full of Halloween party and noise complaints, they are keeping their fingers crossed things go smoothly during the seasonal celebrations.
Vic-PD Constable Matt Rutherford says they'll have additional resources on, but everyone needs to do their part to ensure the safety of excited ‘trick or treaters’.
"Drivers need to take extra caution, especially in the residential areas watching out for all the kids trick or treating. Parents need to ensure their kids are dressed in reflective clothing so drivers can see them. When crossing driveways be careful for cars exiting their residences, and we need to make sure the community comes together to make sure it’s a safe night and that it's everyone's responsibility."
Rutherford also reminds you that you can receive a $200.00 fine for setting off fireworks without a permit.
