The Province has appointed 2 mediators to fix the problematic iHealth records system at Nanaimo Regional General Hospital. BC Health Minister Adrian Dix has confirmed Jane Morley and Jean Greatbatch have beenc hosen for the job.
They are tasked with implementing the recommendations made in a highly critical Ernst and Young report condemning Island Health's management of the system which is behind schedule and over budget. .
According to the Health ministry Morley is a lawyer and mediator, and considered a leader in organizational and social change, while Greatbatch is experienced at conflict management at healthcare organizations having alrfeady been involved in over 300 workplace interventions.
Dix blames the former Liberal government for implementing expensive IT projects at various ministries and corporatioins without any gatekeeper to ensure they worked or stayed on budget.
