The Executive Director of the Land Conservancy says it's agonizing, but needed, as they get ready to sell another parcel of land.
TLC has received BC Supreme Court approval to sell its interests in Maltby Lake in Saanich. The $260-thousand dollar sale should close Friday. Half is going to the "Friends of Maltby Lake Watershed Society", and the other half is going to Carmel and Woody Thomson.
Executive Director Cathy Armstrong says there's one more sale to be approved -- the Wildwood Ecoforest near Cedar. After that, TLC should have enough money to pay off its creditors. "It's an agonizing process, not only in finding the appropriate homes for [the properties] but also in repurposing the organization as to what it looks like after we've found new homes for these properties. It is an identity shift."
Armstrong was speaking with C-FAX 1070's Al Ferraby Wednesday morning.
