A $300-million plan to expand and improve Ogden Point over the next 3 decades has been submitted to Victoria City Hall for consideration opening the door for the re-zoning process.
The Greater Victoria Harbour Authority has an ambitious plan to maintain and enhance marine use, add industrial, commercial and retail space, strengthen First Nations presence, while providing amenities for the public to enjoy.
The Harbour Authority and its design firm, Santec, have heard feedback from the public over 18 months and says further public input will be received during the city re-zoning process.
The plan is essentially unchanged from the one presented to the public in October. Area residents have expressed concerns ranging from increased noise, traffic and pollution to limited public access to the waterfront and impacted views.
The GVHA is expected to meet with city staff sometime in the next few weeks to receive their feedback. The plan can be viewed on the Harbour Authority's website. (http://www.victoriaharbour.org/)
