If you've taken your Christmas tree down and it’s just lying around, some local firefighters are asking you to bring it in for chipping.
North Saanich firefighters invite you to their open house Saturday beginning at 10:00 a.m. for a tree chipping event and open house.
Firefighter, Brian Thomas says it's an an event for the whole family.
"People come along, they give us their trees and hopefully a donation, and they can come and join us for our open house. They can tour the fire hall and grab a hot dog, hot chocolate, hot coffee and we'll also be doing fire truck rides."
That's at the Wain Road Fire Hall, 986 Wain Rd. from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
There will also be a tree collection held at the McTavish Fire Hall. By donation.
Proceeds go to CFAX's Santa's Anonymous.
