The deer population is a high priority problem in Oak Bay, according to a new survey in the District.
A community satisfaction survey of 414 households revealed it was the third biggest single issue facing Oak Bay, falling closely behind sewage treatment and over densification.
Seven in 10 residents acknowledged there is an urban deer problem while six in ten surveyed said they would support a deer cull.
Of those surveyed who said they would support a deer cull, 70 percent agreed to support a property tax increase to get the job done.
There were 11 deer culled last year in Oak Bay as part of a CRD pilot project in a move that was seen as controversial and sparked protests.
Since then the council has been approached with other ways to solve the problem but have yet to embrace a strategy.
