Blood supplies are critically low and donations are desperately needed.
This is National Blood Donor Week and Canadian Blood Services would like you to make an appointment to give before July 1st so they can replenish their supplies.
David Patterson, Director of Donor Relations - BC/Yukon Region, Canadian Blood Services tells CFAX the need is still a throwback from the blast of winter weather we had this year.
"When people don't come out to donate, number one we lose that donation of course and we don't have the opportunity to rebook them as well. And with people so busy these days, that they've often moved on to the other 37 things they have to do on their to-do list."
Patterson is encouraging potential donors to make it a priority. He says it only takes 15 minutes to donate a unit of blood.
