The mother of 15 year old Amanda Todd is celebrating news that the man accused of cyberbullying her daughter to the point she committed suicide, will be extradited to face charges in Canada. But the timeline for Aydin Coban's arrival remains uncertain as there are a few hoops to jump through first.
Both Dutch security and the country's justice minister must sign off on the 38 year old's extradition. And Coban is also appealing the 11 year prison sentence he just received for fraud and blackmail involving 34 young girls and gay men in Holland.
Carol Todd attended the trial, and heard the testimony. She maintains "cyberbullying" isn't a harsh enough word for what Coban did. She prefers "cyber-victimizing" saying what the young people he targeted endured was horrific.
Coban received the maximum sentence being asked for by the Dutch prosecution. He faces 5 counts in connection with Amanda Todds's death. Those charges involve possession of child pornography, extortion, internet luring, criminal harassment and distribution of child pornography.
The teen took her own life in October 2012 after posting a video on YouTube saying she had been blackmailed by someone online.
