It's back. Saanich Police say their stolen speed reader electronic board has been recovered.
They say a person who had been garbage "binning" had had it in their possession. They are telling us the board will be up and running soon, maybe in a neighbourhood near you.
Sgt. Jeremy Leslie gives us an update on the condition of the electronic device.
"There is some damage to the locking mechanism so we'll be talking with the manufacturer and figuring out what sort of other security measures we can put in place to ensure that something like this doesn't happen again."
Leslie says whoever took the device might have realized it wasn't of much use to them and dumped it in the garbage bin.
The speed reader board is worth about $5300 dollars.
