B-C military watchers, got a bird's eye view of some manoeuvres off the coast of Victoria Saturday.
Naval reservists from H-M-C-S Malahat were running training exercises off of Ogden Point. The exercises included boating; diving and some land based scenarios as well.
Commanding Officer of the H-M-C-S Malahat, Michael Lawless says these exercises are crucial."Its absolutely essential. Its an opportunity to put into practice the theoretical skills that allows the Navy Reserve and individual reservists to then go off and support the Navy's mission"
Half of the reservists are from Victoria the divers are from all across the country. There are 24 Naval divisions across Canada.
