Saanich Police say it's amazing no one is seriously hurt after a woman allegedly crashed into multiple vehicles on purpose late Saturday night.
Police say they got the call at around 10:30 p.m. about a mid-sized hatch back car that fled the scene of a collision on Church Street in Saanich that injured another driver.
Reports from police in Oak Bay and Victoria say they saw the same vehicle driving dangerously striking vehicles, including police cars and failing to stop.
Nearly an hour later police caught up to the vehicle that crashed into a ditch, resulting in the women attempting to take off on foot. A K-9 unit and police were able to find her and make the arrest.
“With the amount of occupied vehicles hit by the female driver it is amazing that nobody suffered any major injuries during this situation,” said Cst. Damian Kowalewich in written release.
The woman, in her 40's suffered minor injuries and was hospitalized as a precaution.
Police say she is facing numerous charges, including six charges of hit and run, a count of dangerous driving causing police pursuit and two counts of assaulting a police officer.
