Victoria's Blue Bridge Theatre Society says it won't condone an act of justice pricing being promoted for an upcoming film at the society's Roxy Theatre Thursday night.
Promoter of the film, Shiraz Higgins created a firestorm last week with his announcement that admission to "Building the Room" would involve justice pricing, whereby those who he referred to as cisgender while males would pay a higher ticket price than others attending the premiere screening.
In a news release, Evan Roberts, President of Blue Bridge Theatre Society says the society regrets the effect the decision will have on the artists involved in making the film, but it can't support what it considers irresponsible actions. Roberts went on to say that the Society doesn't believe in, nor does it practice, any form of a prejudicial pricing structure as proposed by the promoter.
