A Langford marijuana dispensary has received a legal order to shut down permanently.
Green Tree Medical Dispensary on Granderson Road was raided and shut down by RCMP in January, but reopened a month later.
The dispensary has also been ordered to pay fines of $1,200 and legal costs of $5,000 to the City of Langford which has sought legal counsel on the issue.
Counsel for the City of Langford states the courts have been clear, the sale and distribution of marijuana through a store front dispensary is illegal.
The order says Green Tree has contravened the City of Langford bylaw by carrying on a commercial undertaking without a business license and posting signage to advertise its business.
The dispensary has five days to remove the signage and remove any marijuana and marijuana related products from the premises.
