Delays in the shipping of steel from China have set back the Johnson street bridge completion by 3 months.
Engineer of the project, Jonathan Huggett, admitted today that city council was given bad advice to go ahead with the bridge.
Mayor Lisa Helps believes that council was not given enough information to make a good decision, and that all of the risks were not identified.
"There was a rush. We were called in on December 31st 2012, to approve a contract."
"What I can say, and what I also said publicly is that no one who was involved in the bridge project is here anymore, and that says something."
The new schedule predicts the bridge to be completed by March 30th, 2018.
