Janet Austin will succeed Judith Guichon as the next Lieutenant-Governor of British Columbia.

Known for her advocacy work; Janet Austin has served as the CEO of the YWCA Metro Vancouver for the past 15 years.
An Order of BC recipient in 2016, Austin says there are a number of key areas she may focus on in her new role:
"Issues I have long been associated with, that I have supported throughout my career, are things like gender equality, early child development, reconcilliation and pluralism and diversity. "
An avid cyclist, Austin says she and her husband are looking forward to living in Victoria.
