A stand-off on Hillside Avenue ended in an arrest Wednesday night.
Vic-PD spokesperson Bowen Osoko says police originally thought two people, one wanted on a Canada-wide warrant, had barricaded themselves inside a condo suite. In the end only the man wanted on the Canada wide warrant was found inside when he surrendered around 11pm.
"We used a distraction device -- that was the loud bang that people heard a bit earlier -- and we used a couple of different tools to try and get the person to come out, which he eventually did and surrendered to our officers," said Osoko.
The standoff took place in a condo building near Hillside and Cedar Hill and involved the region's Emergency Response Team.
