Rescue on the High seas Saturday when the BC Ferry Kahloke was travelling from Hornby to Denman Island when the crew heard a distress call on the FM radio. Another ship was calling to ask for help for a situation they were witnessing on the water. Just south of Denman Island there was a 12 foot aluminum skiff capsized. BC Ferry's Deb Marshall says the Ferry was immediately diverted to the scene. “Once we got close enough our rescue vessel managed to pull the man who was hovering on top of his capsized boat to safety.”
The 30 year old man was suffering from Hypothermia but he is expected to make a full recovery. He was brought to shore safely at Chrome Island.
