Victoria has stepped up to help those left homeless after Friday's early morning fire at Evergreen Terrace. All Tenants have now found temporary lodging. They've also been provided with food vouchers.
Groups like CFAX 1070's Santa’s Anonymous the Victoria Firefighter's Charitable Society and the Salvation Army, among others have been instrumental in the effort. BC Housing, which owns and operates the building, has arranged for new, permanent accommodation for all displaced residents.
Thirty-five people were displaced in total. The cause of the fire is still being investigated.
If you want to donate, CFAX Santa's anonymous is asking for gift cards that can be used at food and department stores. Those can be dropped off at 1420 Broad Street in Downtown Victoria. You can also go directly to the Quadra Village web site @ quadravillagecc.com
