The Greater Victoria Public Library has announced the latest addition to its pass program.
Twenty e-passes for Craigdarroch Castle are now available on the library's website. They can be checked out with an electronic device, and each allow free entry for two adults and two children.
Craigdarroch executive director John Hughes says they recently held a free day and had 18-hundred people attend.
"So of course we sampled the audience, 'Is this something you would have done if it wasn't free?' And the answer quite often is no. They think of it as this tourist place to go, but it's a museum. If you're thinking of education and learning and going to a library suddenly you're going, 'Okay, well I may actually go check these places out.' So I think it's going to serve us very, very well."
Craigdarroch Castle becomes the fifth member in the library's still expanding pass program.
Over the last four years, nearly 11-thousand families have checked out free passes for the Art Gallery of Greater Victoria, the Royal BC Museum, the Robert Bateman Centre, or Saanich Recreation Centres.
