An online services that monitors gas prices is predicting a jump in prices at the pump after a pipeline explosion near Prince George.
Gas price analyst Dan McTeague of GasBuddy.com warns the Enbridge rupture will affect Washington state refineries which use natural gas for power to produce gasoline, diesel and jet fuel.
McTeague says the length of the impact will be directly related to how long the pipeline is out of service. He estimates that could be up to 2 weeks.
Vancouver Island is already feeling the effects -- with a few station hiking their prices to 153.9 -- up 14 cents a litre.
