Beginning next week, you'll have a chance to to experience what an 8.0 magnitude earthquake feels like by taking a free ride in the ShakeZone mobile earthquake simulator.
Victoria Red Cross Emergency Support Services will be joined by ShakeOutBC and the Victoria Fire Department to share educational information on emergency preparedness.
The City of Victoria has partnered with the Greater Victoria School District to align classroom education about plate tectonics and earthquakes with a realistic earthquake simulation to enhance the learning experience for grade 8 students at Central Middle School and Victoria High School students.
The ShakeZone mobile earthquake simulator will be visiting the Capital Region on the following days:
