Esquimalt Mayor Barb Desjardins has made it official and tells CFAX 1070 she is seeking the BC Liberal Party nomination in the Esquimalt-Metchosin riding.
"I have worked hard as mayor to bring leadership to the community and we have an amazing community going forward. So, this is somewhat of a natural progression to make that shift now up to a provincial level where I can help in terms of a greater regional perspective."
Desjardins says she expects to appear at a Liberal rally Wednesday as the BC Liberals' candidate for the May 9 provincial election.
