Barb Desjardins says she may have to step aside as mayor of Esquimalt during the campaign.
Esquimalt Mayor Barb Desjardins has made it official and tells CFAX 1070 she is seeking the BC Liberal Party nomination in the Esquimalt-Metchosin riding."I have worked hard as mayor to bring leadership to the community and we have an amazing community going forward. So, this is somewhat of a natural progression to make that shift now up to a provincial level where I can help in terms of a greater regional perspective."Desjardins says she expects to appear at a Liberal rally Wednesday as the BC Liberals' candidate for the May 9 provincial election.
