Esquimalt fire department is asking the public to keep an eye out for someone setting fires in the community.
Crews were called to put out several suspicious blazes Friday night and Saturday morning involving a vehicle, dumpsters and a sign.
Fire Chief Chris Jancowski says all of the fires were set fairly closely together -- on Old Esquimalt Road, Ellery Street, Devonshire and Dominion Roads.
He says it's important to catch the person before the weather dries out:
" Any fire has the potential of spreading. Right now we have definitely a little bit damper weather, as everyone can see outside. But again, this behaviour is concerning to the fire service because if this person isn't caught or stoppedĀ before spring and summer when the weather does dry out, it definitely has a greater potential for fire spread in the drier summer months."
Victoria police are assisting in the investigation. Jancowski urges anyone seeing suspicious activity to report it to VicPd.
