Environment Canada has issued a snowfall warning for greater Victoria. Victorians are advised to be on the lookout for adverse weather conditions and take necessary safety precautions. Snow is expected beginning tonight as a pacific front hits the coast and spreads snow to the south coast. Snow will continue through Sunday gradually changing to rain beginning Sunday night. As usual, snowfall will be highly variable with 10 to 20 cm of snow expected before changing to rain Sunday night with the higher amounts expected inland and over higher terrain. Coastal sections of Vancouver Island may see closer to 5 to 10 cm of snow. The arctic air that has been with us for nearly two weeks will finally be flushed out by milder pacific air starting Monday.
