The federal government has implemented new security screening procedures at pre-board checkpoints.
The new measures, which have been implemented at all Canadian Airports, allow for the random screening of electronic devices where passengers must be able to remove cases and power on devices.
Jim Bogusz, spokesperson for Victoria International airport says this new screening shouldn't change any wait times in YYJ while going through security.
"It's ultimately up to the screener to determine what level of screening for that particular device, but you do need to be able to remove it from any form of protection."
The screenings will focus on cell phones, tablets, and laptops.
