The Chief of a Tsilhqot’in (CHILL-coltin) First Nation is raising alarm bells over the granting of drilling permits for the twice rejected New Prosperity Mine.
Chief Roger William, calls it unbelievable that in a time of crisis, the outgoing Liberal government would move to approve drilling permits.
William says the permits were approved despite the objections of First Nations over unacceptable environmental and cultural impacts.
William says the Tsilhqot'in Nation will challenge the B.C. permits in court.
