The Capital Regional District Board has rubber stamped a plan to borrow a little over $6.1-million to compete two sections of the E&N rail Trail.
They say the cost to the average taxpayer for the loan will be about $2.72 a year over 15 years.
CRD staff plan to seek grants to offset those costs.
The work will connect existing portions of pedestrian and cycling trail in Langford between Savory School and the Galloping Goose trail. It'll also connect the trail at Esquimalt Road to the Johnson Street Bridge. They hope to have it done by 2019.
