A couple of boaters are lucky to be alive after their boat capsized and they spent more than 10 hours stranded in the elements. Two boaters out crabbing had their vessel capsize and sink just after dark near Campbell River on Saturday into Sunday morning.
The boaters were not wearing life jackets and swam for about 20 minutes before reaching Otter Cove.
A Canadian Coast Guard vessel was dispatched around 1 a.m. and found the men after more than two hours.
The men were taken to hospital where they were treated for hypothermia.
