West Shore RCMP is warning people in around Royal Roads University to be on the lookout for a cougar which was spotted in the area Thursday night around 8:30 p.m.
One eyewitness told CFAX 1070 he saw RCMP officers with weapons drawn in the area around Wishart, behind the fire hall.
Roman says he was walking his dog when he was told to make his way out of the area because of the dangerous cat being spotted. "Just when I got off Royal Roads on Wishart a patrol car was going by and they said, "you better hurry up because there has been a cougar sighting and he may be coming out."
Notices are being put up on and around the campus warning of the cougar sighting.
West Shore RCMP advise avoiding the area until further notice.
