Victoria MP Murray Rankin held a community town hall Tuesday night to discuss fallout from the federal budget unveiled last week.
As the federal NDP continues to demand a crackdown on stock option deduction loopholes and offshore tax havens, Rankin says he is particularly concerned about what the government is calling 'agressive tax avoidance'.
"Bottom line is that money is not in Canada. That means some people aren't paying their fair share, and that is not reflected in this budget. So it's not doing much to deal with the inequality that is growing in our society."said Rankin.
The community town hall was held at the Cook Street Village Activity Centre, 380 Cook Street.
