The City of Colwood is declining to take part in the CRD led regional transportation service.
Colwood council passed a motion this week rejecting a plan to create a unified voice for transportation in the region.
Colwood Mayor Carol Hamilton says there's still a lot of work to be done on it.
“There are still so many other players that need to be at the table,” said Hamilton. “The province owns some of the jurisdiction on those provincial roads and those main through fares that affect us mostly; the plan is to differ to the municipality for their own secondary roads.”
In release from the city of Colwood, the most pressing regional transportation problem remains the Trans Canada highway which is controlled by the province.
The council was expressing concern further taxation to Colwood for the project which is estimated at 3-4 percent of the overall costs of the service.
“The numbers are skewed,” said Hamilton. “Are we going to end up with a money injection but no result?”
Colwood isn't alone saying no to the idea, Langford also declined the proposal last week.
